With Dr. Li’s guidance, Dr. Pang visits ZSHK’s experimental area, equipment and apparatus, procedures of drug safety evaluation and operation of functional areas etc.

Meeting

During discussion, Dr. Li firstly thanked for Biotechnology Department’s visit, then reported ZSHK’s general situation and drug safety evaluation experimental organization to Dr. Pang and her fellows. Dr. Li emphasized on ZSHK’s current work on creating a new environment for biomedical innovation of Hong Kong, improving Hong Kong tertiary education units’ ability of translating research results and talent training etc.
Dr. Pang introduced the general situation of ITC, Innovation and Technology Fund of Hong Kong, basic science and technology facilities and the business line of Biotechnology Department.
Next, both parties discussed how ZSHK’s service could assist the development of Hong Kong’s biomedical industry. Dr. Pang stated that biotechnology is a vital part of establishing Hong Kong’s status of international technology innovation center. She hoped that ZSHK’s business could act as the foundation of technological service of Hong Kong’s biomedical industry and that ZSHK could boost its promotion to 
strengthen the bond between ZSHK and local organizations, as well as increasing the opportunities of business collaboration.
Dr. Theobald Chan, Dr. Yin F. Mak, Dr. Eric Leung, Senior Officers of Biotechnology of ITC; Mr. Simon Sze, Vice Director of Institute for Translational Research and Mr. Ma Jun Yi, Director of Public Affair of ZSHK joined the event.
